Dr. Edmond is fourth from right with Showers’ staff.
Thanks to your support the Showers Foundation Health Center has been able to hire our first full time doctor. Dr. Edmond Wabineno has been working at the clinic since August 2025. He is a graduate of Kampala International University, Uganda and previously worked at Moroto Regional Referral Hospital, Uganda.
Because of Dr. Edmond’s regular presence more and more people from the surrounding villages have been seeking health care at the clinic. Since August we have served 40% more patients of all ages.
A patient shared this story about their recent experience with Dr. Edmond and the Showers Foundation Health Center:
When I reached Showers, I met a new face that I never met before. I didn't know he was a doctor. Not until he introduced himself to me. He spent a lot of time examining me and later I was admitted. I kept seeing him reviewing me twice a day, and I asked him if he is a visiting doctor. He said he is a full time doctor.” I think this is the reason why there are many patients in the wards and at the OPD. I can't imagine being seen twice a day and he even had time to discuss my condition with him whereas in other hospitals doctors saw me only twice a week.
'Showers is now doing what other Health Centers are not doing, because we love to be seen by the doctor whenever we go to hospital. He is such a well-trained doctor that will do a lot for Showers, the way I received his treatment that made me well after 3 days far away from all the suffering I went through for the last five weeks of severe pain. Am thanking God and the management of Showers for bringing this full time doctor at to us. I pray for the doctor to keep up the spirit and make Showers better than any other health center.
Inspired by the community’s growing need for health care, the board of the Showers Clinic has taken on the challenge of providing even more services for the residents of Nebbi, Uganda.
The hospital board has decided to expand our facilities by adding a new wing to the health center.
This new wing will feature an emergency room, a larger operating room, a recovery room, and expanded laboratory services, which are greatly needed in the area. Additionally, it will include a doctor's consultation and examination room, among other essential facilities.
Construction on the project has begun, but your support is needed. The cost for the entire project is $96,200 which includes the foundations, roofing, plumbing, electrical and all the other elements needed to expand care for the community.
Will you help by considering a special gift to make this project a reality?
